Evening Song was born a mute. She had no way of showing her emotions, except writing it plain out on paper. She loved to read and go for walks a night, because it was the only time she could get away from her life. Her walks at night were always enjoyable, and she loved the twinkle of the stars and the shine of the moon. She had read about the Mare in the Moon, and felt sad that her sister neglected her and she wanted the Princess's/Mare's friendship. She pretended the Mare would speak to her, and that they were close friends. Evening Song's only friend.
One night she sat outside and read the story titled 'The First Snowflake', and was instantly inspired. The young filly in the story, Snowdrop, was disabled like Evening Song. She showed everyone the beauty and importance of night and winter, even though she couldn't see. Evening Song was determined to find her place and show everyone the beauty of the night, even if she couldn't speak. She ran inside and grabbed her violin she was learning to play on, and ran back out. She began to play, and instead of being shaky like how she usually played, she played perfectly. Her cutie mark appeared that night, and from then on she played her feelings on her violin.
When she heard that the Mare in the Moon, who was now Nightmare Moon, had returned, she was excited. She wanted to play for her 'friend' and show her how much she loved the night. But Nightmare Moon had bigger plans, and was eventually defeated by the Elements of Harmony, bringing Princess Luna back.
Evening Song curious why no one wanted eternal night.
She now practices every night, hoping one day to show everyone the beauty of the wonderful twilight.
If only she could show the Princess of the Night, Luna.
